3rd Canadian Wheat Symposium

November 22, 2016 – November 25, 2016 – Ottawa, Ontario

Subject experts from NRC will be in attendance at the 3rd Canadian Wheat Symposium to showcase NRC’s expertise in wheat breeding. Topics range from recent developments in utilizing aerial imaging for wheat phenotyping to molecular breeding tools that improve the freezing tolerance in wheat.

The four-day event will focus on addressing global issues like the importance of wheat in feeding the growing world population and in the context of climate change. Topics related to industry restructuring and intellectual property will be discussed in panel format. Recent advances in research and issues of direct importance to the grain industry will be presented. The symposium is the second half of the Growing Ideas joint conference, which will provide industry stakeholders, including researchers, producers, grain handlers, end users, consumers and regulators to discuss the latest Canadian and international progress on solving the problems in wheat research.
